Meet Kareem

Kareem is a professionally trained dancer and choreographer with over 10 years of teaching experience. His journey began in Chennai, India, where he trained under top choreographers and worked with renowned actors, actresses, and the legendary Prabhu Deva.

In 2011, Kareem's team placed as runner-up at the Hip Hop International Dance Competition India — a testament to his skill and dedication to the art of dance.

After moving to Toronto, Kareem founded The Fame Lee Dance with a simple mission: make everyone dance. His classes are designed to be fun, safe, and accessible to people of all ages and skill levels.

What sets Kareem apart is his teaching style — he breaks down every move step by step, translates the song lyrics so you understand what you're dancing to, and creates an environment where everyone feels comfortable and confident on the dance floor.

From School Stage to International Stage

Kareem's love for dance started at the age of 10, performing at school annual day programs, cultural events, and every function he could get on stage for. By grade 8, he was already winning dance competitions.

When he joined college, everything changed. He became part of the college dance team, where senior dancers taught him professional techniques, tips, and tricks that YouTube tutorials alone couldn't teach. He spent countless hours studying choreography videos, breaking down moves frame by frame, and practicing until every step was second nature.

At university, Kareem took it to the next level — joining a professional dance crew that competed nationally. Together, they represented at Hip Hop International India (HHI India) and came home as runners-up. Along the way, he won multiple college, university, and national-level competitions in Hip Hop dance.

Kareem has been dancing professionally since 2010. After moving to Toronto, he founded The Fame Lee Dance with one mission: make dance accessible to everyone — in person and online.

Teaching Style

Kareem teaches dance the way it should be taught — with fun, zero judgment, and zero pressure. His classes are designed especially for people who are shy or nervous about dancing for the first time. He makes sure every single person in the room feels comfortable before they take their first step. There's no wrong move in his class — only your move.

The energy in his sessions is so good that you won't even realize how fast the hour went by. That's the Fame Lee experience — you walk in thinking "I can't dance" and you walk out asking "when's the next class?"
